Migrant Education Program (MEP) provides grants to LKSD to establish or improve education programs for migrant children. These grants assist LKSD in improving educational opportunities for migrant children to help them succeed in the regular school program, meet the challenging State content, and performance standards that all children are expected to meet, and graduate from high school.
Family nights are held once a month. Families in the community including non-migrant children come up to participate. During family nights they have activities, snacks, and drawings. They either do art projects, games, or read books. Free books are also given to Migrant Ed. children at these events.
